• A clinical herbalist is a practitioner of herbal medicine who is trained in intake skills, herbal energetics and constitutional assessment, potential herb/drug interactions, body sciences like anatomy and physiology, ethics, holistic nutrition, creating effective herbal protocols, and the medicinal use of plants and fungi.

  • I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania (#MSG014616) and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), and an Associate Member with the American Herbalist Guild

In the United States, there are no pathways for licensure for herbalists.

  • Herbs can often safely work alongside medications, but it depends on the herb and the medication. The best way to ensure safety is to work with a knowledgeable herbal practitioner who has studied this subject and has the ability to formulate a protocol that's safe for use alongside your meds.

  • A tincture is a medicinal preparation where a mixture of alcohol and water has been used to extract the medicinal properties of the plant. There are a few methods to do this, such as maceration, double extraction and percolation.

  • Tinctures can be taken in a couple ways. My favorite way is in a few ounces of water. This helps cut the taste of the alcohol and any not-so-yummy herbs involved. Simply add the recommended dose to the water and drink up. You can also take them straight into your mouth.

  • A flower essence is a medicine that contains the spirit and vibrational imprint of a plant. It is made with distilled water, a small amount of brandy and glycerine. Essences are therapeutic remedies for emotional, psychological and energetic healing.

  • All herbal medicine is sourced with considerations to ethical harvesting practices, potency and seasonality, ecological status of the herb, vitality of the ecosystem, worker conditions, sustainability practices and more. I do my best to ensure that my practices acknowledge the sacredness of all life.

I am committed to ethical sourcing and education around the harm of wildcrafting and appropriation, as well as the complexities of the growing herbal and wellness industry.

I maintain a small apothecary with herbs grown by small scale farmers in my bioregion. As part of my unsettling practice, I do not wildcraft native, endangered or at-risk plants. When I do harvest from the wild, I work with incredibly abundant, weedy plants like chickweed, cleavers, plantain, elderflowers, nettle, goldenrod, etc.

Other items like oils, beeswax, and honey come from organic small producers in the United States.

  • After our session I will spend some time creating a personalized formula for you. I reflect on our conversation and do any necessary research. After I formulate the medicine, I have an apothecarist fill it. The medicine is then mailed directly to you.

Please confirm that the address provided on your intake form is your current shipping address.

  • I am not taking bodywork clients at this time. Sign up for my newsletter for updates.

  • I practice Relaxing Swedish, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy and incorporate aromatherapy, cupping, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and breath work into sessions.

  • Each massage session is designed for your unique needs and can combine Relaxing Swedish, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy. Together we will agree on which modalities best fit your goals.

The session may also include stretching, cupping, energy work, breathing technique and herbalism like aromatherapy, custom herbal formulas or using whole herb infused oils to promote further pain relief, lymphatic flow, and relaxation.

All sessions can be personalized to an extent though costs differ and time restraints do exist. You can always reach out before scheduling if you are unsure of which service to book.

  • To some extent, yes.

Any massage session can include aromatherapy for no extra charge. Aromatherapy will utilize organic, therapeutic grand botanical waters and essential oils.

If you are interested in working with me in my capacity as a Clinical Herbalist and as Licensed Massage Therapist please email me and we can create a custom plan that meets your needs and goals.

For clients only interested in herbal support you may wish to schedule a herbal offering. Please note these sessions do not include any bodywork.

Separate bodywork sessions can occur in tandem.

  • The level of undress is entirely up to you. You are covered with a sheet and modestly drapped the entire time.

Ideally, massage techniques benefit from skin to skin contact and the application of oil or lotion though many modalities give us wiggle room.

Generally clients get completely undressed - removing undergarments like their bra or chest binder, and underwear to allow for massage techniques to be applied on their shoulders, upper and lower back, legs and gluteus muscles. All while properly drapped.

You have full agency to keep on the amount of clothing you are comfortable with and request that certain areas or body parts are not touched or worked on. I will respect your wishes and not question your needs.

  • No - I will leave the room while you undress, settle onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet. I will knock before entering the room to make sure you are covered and ready for the session to begin.

  • A typical full-body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders.

This work is collaborative and focused on your goals and needs. You are able to request time be focused on certain areas or request certain body parts or areas not be touched or addressed.

  • Things can come up. Emotions and memories can be stored in the body. Allowing yourself time to process can help you heal. Experiencing emotions during sessions is normal and nothing to be embarrassed by.

I am here to hold space to the best of my abilities and scope of practice.

If emotions come up, I will check in to ask if you would like me to continue working. We are able to check in, pause, take a break or end the session at anytime. I will never ask for details or question your needs. I will not actively or intentionally attempt to elicit an emotional response or an emotional release.

During our intake we can create a safe word before you get on the table - by using this word the session would immediately pause and I would walk out of the room - no questions asked - giving you a moment to assess your needs in private.

  • Let’s talk!

I am open to trading massage and/or herbal care but cannot make promises. I am especially interested in trades with tattoo artists, acupuncturists, other massage therapists, ceramists and sellers of vintage furniture.
